Welcome
to the Island Journal, Isola Della Banana's central
repository of news, information, observation. Here at
the Journal, new entries are posted at leisure,
old news is always good news (and available in the Journal
Archives), and no storage is ever remote.
NEWS
January 1, 2005
The year begins with the traditional burial of last year's
high hopes and good ententions, encased in a bio-degradable
banana leaf shroud and accompanied by the classic chant,
Boola Boola Boola Boola Boola Boola Begone! Due to the
unfortunate accumulation of melancholy events in prior
months, the ceremony was marked by an unusually large
turn-out. As the old year turns to compost, the resulting
mulch, more brittle than other mixes, will be used for
the new plantings in the Butterfly Habitat under construction
in Valla della Farfalla.
Herewith, the Isola Della Banana resolutions for the
coming seasons:

Visitor Information
Isola Della Banana can be reached by canoe, kayak, dragon
boat, sailing yacht, or hot air balloon. Most travelers
try to arrange their landing between 11 am and 1 PM, when
there is less chance of encountering confusing shadows
that render the island nearly invisible. At any hour,
both the Lighthouse and the Boola Boola Room maintain
blue lanterns at the end of their docks.
Day visitors are invited to relax and enjoy the island.
Wholesome island fare is available at all hours from the
Boola Boola Room. Please note that special diets will
not be observed.
Overnight accommodations are available by invitation only.
If we do not already know your hammock size, you are probably
not invited.
Guests who stay longer than five months are urged to find
some more meaningful occupation.
